Atlas, my innovative project, combines the functionality of a blender with a precision food scale to empower users in their journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Designed with sleek aesthetics and intuitive usability, Atlas seamlessly integrates into modern kitchens, offering convenience and accuracy in meal preparation. With its fusion of technology and culinary aid, Atlas aims to revolutionize the way individuals approach nutrition and cooking, positioning itself as a standout entry for the Gia Inspired Home show.

Research

Secondary- Secondary research revealed that blender design has stagnated, failing to align with contemporary trends and remaining bulky and impractical for storage, indicating a need for innovation in form factor.

Interviews- Conducting interviews yielded invaluable insights into users' pain points with blenders, revealing that 7 out of 8 participants refrained from frequent blender usage due to the time-consuming process of measuring and cleaning multiple components when preparing healthy smoothies. These findings underscored the pressing need for a solution that streamlines both preparation and cleanup to encourage consistent usage and support healthier eating habits.

Problem Statment

The cumbersome nature of current blenders, coupled with difficulties in storage, inhibits the adoption of healthier lifestyles, while the time-consuming process of measuring and cleaning deters frequent usage, highlighting the pressing demand for a streamlined solution to simplify these tasks and encourage healthier eating habits.

Ideation and Prototyping

During the ideation phase, extensive exploration of form was undertaken to harmoniously merge blenders and food scales, ensuring both functionality and ease of storage were prioritized. The result was a meticulous design process that yielded a shape optimized for both blending and compact storage, effectively addressing the challenges posed by traditional bulky blender designs.

The prototyping phase proved instrumental in validating the concept's feasibility and refining the design to a higher fidelity. Through iterative testing and refinement, each prototype iteration honed the functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that the final design seamlessly integrated blender and food scale functionalities while optimizing usability and storage convenience.

The final result represents a groundbreaking innovation in the blending experience by seamlessly integrating food scales, effectively streamlining the entire process and addressing the previously identified issues of bulkiness and inconvenience in storage. This fusion not only revolutionizes the functionality of blenders but also simplifies meal preparation, empowering users to effortlessly measure ingredients with precision, thus overcoming the barriers that hindered their adoption of healthier eating habits.
